Cork’s All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship* 2025

Ollie Canning scored an unreal point same day.
Athenry played Toomevara in Cusack Park one time in a feisty affair

Galway were like the Simpsons take on John Elway.

Athenry played birr in Ennis one time in all Ireland semi final which seemed like an odd choice of venue

It is never easy to beat Kilkenny. Gillane is like a one man band at this stage. He’s incredible at winning ball he has no right to win but if Huw Lawlor can get the better off him Kilkenny will fancy their chances.

Tipperary’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Preliminary Quarter Final against Laois will be played next Saturday in Portlaoise at 1.45pm, the first part of a double-header with the Senior Football clash of Cork v Roscommon at 4.15pm.

An exceedingly attractive double header

Tipps Road to Croke Park leads through Laois

I’m half wondering if a cock-a-hoop Cork (despite giving Tipp a couple of hidings earlier this season) could come in overconfident & be bamboozled by a barrage of bullets from reinvigorated snipers in Cooper helmets in Croke Park. A repeat of the 2014 semi final perhaps where I was the metaphorical Tyler Walsh & the guests in the Bank of Ireland corporate box were like the players on Saturday night. I totally lost control, valued corporate clients were exchanging angry words & the assessors/bosses had a field day with me in the Monday morning debrief.

In fairness you probably hadn’t got to grips with the rules either that early in your after rubby career

Limerick are the only team than can beat Cork on the day. whether they get that far I am not so sure-If they do they will win it

Was it the Cork / Dublin / Galway leaning poster from Kilmacud who was telling all of that Cork were certainties for the whole week?

@Sandymount_Red or some other South Dub?

Salthill in 03. Thurles in 14. Limerick in 23.

Croke park for the other meetings

Limerick in 2020 as well.

I’d give tipp a one in five chance because cork are prone to off days.

And they will have zero delay in getting there from anything in Laois …tis a fine motorway

Tipp will beat them.

I fancy Galway to beat Tipp by at least one point, possibly after extra time.

In the same way Derry got big value out of a failed comeback against Armagh and carried it through to their game against Galway in the football, Galway actually learned a bit about what to do with the ball when in possession in the last 15 minutes yesterday, as in it might be a good idea to have somebody close to goal who can actually win a ball.

55 minutes of Galway’s performance yesterday was the sort of performance that was so limp that it can only be followed the next day by a performance of real anger as a reaction against that limpness.

Galway have always liked playing Tipp. It’s probably the most even rivalry in the game with games historically usually on a knife edge coming into the last five minutes. Tipp are due a win against Galway, mind.

I’d give Galway a better chance of beating tipp than I would give tipp of beating cork.

The choice of venue will be a huge factor in Galway’s challenge.

They’ll have a huge chance in Portlaoise, Tullamore, Limerick or possibly Ennis.
If it’s Thurles, Croker or PUC I fancy Tipp to win well.

If Tipp manage to beat Laois is there any chance the venue for the Galway match is anywhere but Limerick? Be a sickener to have to spin down to Cork to suffer through a Gavin Lee bomb into a welcoming Tipp centreback paw.

If it is in PUC they will struggle to get 25 - 30k for a double header there.
