Worrying result/performance for Cork Hurling.
Ben Cunningham isn’t stepping up at all. Ethan Twomey just doesn’t have it. The Cahalane’s are more brawn than brains.
They couldn’t get any kind of decent ball into Hayes/Buckley to be fair to them but you’d like to have seen them try to make something happen.
Conor Lehane is much maligned but he’s some club hurler.

JBM was cool, handsome and sound. An absolute cult hero. But he was a limited hurler who wouldn’t get near the present Cork team. Completely one sided. This argument has been done a few times on tfk and a cursory look back at jbm in action has confirmed his limitations.

He is Limerick actually.
Any report on how next year’s Cork U-20s went - O’Briens and Kelleher at Douglas and Murray at the Barrs for example, maybe Troy (Newtown) and Conor McCarthy (Barrs), if they are underage next year.
He was a lovely hurler, he was a brilliant footballer, he is a wonderful man, he has a great name
He is rightfully adored in Cork
It’s a dangerous game to play because it seems that to look at the big picture and suggest that he wasn’t one of the best ever is to disparage him in some way.
I don’t know what games these lads were looking at, he was still worth his place in 86 but was clearly on a sharp decline

If Lisgoold have anyway decent odds I’d lump on them heavy for tomorrow against our lot, we are down 3 of our best players.
Kelleher came on at halftime and did fine… did turnover ball at one stage tho and lead to a Newtown score. OBrien i touched on above… good player… was involved in most Douglas attacks and probably should have had a goal but angle was tight on the left after he burned passed 2 defenders like a whippet, keeper came out and stood up to the shot . Had a couple from play.
