Cork, the softest of cunts (Part 2)

As Midleton etc have shown in the past we need the country clubs big time

That hasn’t prevented a number of old dinosaurs from being openly put out by Ben’s appointment.

Newtown used to come over to Kilmallock to play in the festival tournaments in the seventies. They’d always bring a crowd. We’d always have time for them.

Probably one of the best supported teams in Cork still considering how small the population is.

Believe me i would think something like that could have happened.

An enjoyable evening down the PĂĄirc.

The likes of O’Leary, Millerick and Buckley really put the hands up. Buckley is a class act.

Went a bit wayward in the second half. Tipp with the extra man at the back mopping up all the breaks for a long spell gave the crowd a good dose of PTSD.

I think the team is slowly taking shape. It’s possible that Dalton has been keeping that inside spot warm for Hayes - there’s a reason Connolly has been tried on the frees.

The obsession with Cork’s “on the edge stuff” is very weird.

Cork U-20 squad about what you’d expect, with the exception of Mark O’Brien and Liam Kelleher (both Douglas). Any impressions of that game?

Heard Heavin, Brosnan and Mallow’s Murphy played well.

BOC is injecting steel into Cork

He’s a great bit of stuff, a breath of fresh air. Fair play to them, they have found their man.

Didn’t make it in for it.

MOB must be injured.

A lot of u18s on it from last year’s very good minor team and they got plenty game time based on the report.

Surprised to see Heavin there considering his size but him and Denis Fitzgerald look serious prospects.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Craig O’Sullivan ends up starting, serious free-taker.

MOB didn’t make the panel apparently.
