I think I may have said it before but the setting sun streaming through the poplars at PUR is iconic
Clare are poor but good Cork team. Subs are good too.
Yup, weâre hammering the fuck out of them. Biut theyâve saw down the poplarsđ
Wastefulness a worry but theyâre young lads. Hurled well in the second half.
Hopefully they can drive on now and get another crack at a very good Tipp team.
Piss poor city representation
RE: the Minors, our goal shouldnât have been allowed but we were two or three levels better than them in terms of our short-play, touch and movement so would have won regardless. Will be interesting to see how we do against Tipp with Coffey/Considine back. Nolan was very good at center-back, presume he wonât be playing hurling past Minor. Some tidy hurlers like McCarthy, McHugh, Coffey, Power etc. Subs were good as well, along with the Castletownroche corner-back.
RE: the U-20s, would be very worried about Clareâs OâConnor and the size of that full-back line; interesting that none of the 2023 Minor full-back line is involved and they donât seem interested in giving OâRiordan/OâCallaghan a go - for me, Heavinâs size means he can do very little under dropping ball, and the other two arenât much bigger. Iâd imagine theyâll go with the same back 6 again as you wouldnât want to disrupt 5-9 after they played so well.
Johnny Murphy is a big leader in the team and his hurling has improved immeasurably since Minor. He is the second most important forward after Walsh.
Good win for the minor footballers tonight. Hopwfully they drive on now and beat Kerry in a MF after the disappointment at u20.
I see B Walsh is playing on Wednesday. Will probably mean that Healy gets the start on Saturday.
