Cork - the softest of cunts 🐐

Was bound to happen soon or later… apparently they’re moving the dock area down to the old IFI plant near Cobh, they’ll be able to put some sort of guard rail along it then

Not enough people in cork to fill these jobs. Plenty of the queens pounds (in euro) floating around. Plenty of us economic migrants from Limerick down here

Docks are being moved to ringaskiddy. Will be the right job once the motorway is put up put there

Walked down to the market from the middle of town the weekend of the Limerick match (might have been Easter Monday) and I was surprised at how open the whole thing is. I know it’s a working port and all that, but you had people tipping along with buggies on the road with trucks flying up and down beside them. No footpath iirc. The road is in bits as well.

The marina market is a great spot to grab a bite to eat. It was way too busy the day of the match but there is some great eating in there. The burger place inside the door, the burrito place and the fancy chip place are my go tos tbh

Would you get chips with gravy there?

If you wanted. For the west Limerick mushes. I get baconnaise and bacon bits

Half the places were closed when we went in, probably because we were in there early and/or because it was a bank holiday. Got a smashing breakfast roll in there though, a real gourmet affair.

The fuse board of Ireland

Irish food culture. Range of choice but cant bate a breakfast roll

44 year old mother of two from Douglas died in that accident. The kids that got out,10 and 12, are beyond traumatized. Horrific… News suggesting she reversed and went in. I’ve not been up that road since 2001 but you can’t really reverse there, it’s a main road isn’t it? I’m wondering did she miss the turn right to Douglas where the sextant used to be and drove up that road by mistake and tried to turn around… A strange spot to reverse.

It’s wide open but that stretch of road is about 40 yards wide to include the road and the working docks.
If she was from Douglas it wouldn’t make sense to turn right at the Sextant, where would she be coming from when you think I about it,

RIP

Jesus that’s tough

If she was coming from city and heading home you turn right there and it brings you to the motorway. She was from greater Douglas area.

I see what you mean, to get on the link?
Most would go up the side of the city hall by the fire station

Anyway, neither here nor there

I assumed she was parked down there as others are too, spent the afternoon and evening around the area, got in the car and reversed instead of put the car in first. Anytime I parked there I can’t recall the quay being that close though I must be wrong.

Ive never really been up there , not as a driver, I only catch a glimpse when I’m turning for the link. Those poor kids.

Nobody would have driven up there really unless you had business there. Until the marina market opened. Its a poor surface road and absolute mayhem down there. Quickest way to the market driving and walking from city. Horrendous stuff. May she RIP

The quay is wide open as you’re heading up to the marina market, a few months back when things re-opened there were cars parking everywhere down there all along the waters edge.
I was reading that the tide was in so the water was 12metres deep.
It was so lucky that those kids survived it.a very sad story all told
