Cork - the softest of cunts 🐐

I reverse parked along that quay going to the market one morning. All the cars were parked well up from the edge, but I could see how easily it could happen.

For those unfamiliar with the area

It’s gotten very popular since Covid,
Cars will often park on the left but not so close to the river. There’s a large car park ahead for the Marina market in the old Fords plant

An accident waiting to happen. What had Covid to do with it increasing in popularity?

I don’t think the market was there before the pandemic.

The market is a serious spot. Strolled down there last summer.

RIP to the woman. A bit pointless trying to speculate on the chain of events that led to this tragedy

It just became a popular place to go drinking initially in the summer of 2020, then the market opened and it attracted families,

It was always a popular suicide spot, dozens of cars have been taken out of that stretch of river over the years,
But it’s always been a working dockland

Terrible story.RIP. Those poor kids.

Would you drive through here on the way to the Pairc? Or take a right turn beforehand.

You could go that way and turn right at Southern Mills onto center park road but it is usual to turn right at the idle hour.
It’s a working dock land with cranes etc, traffic wouldn’t have been encouraged

Any recommendations for jersey framing in cork? Will accept recommendations in Limerick

Yes. Get a Carlow jersey framed. Lovely colours.

Cummins Picture Framing on Catherine St. in Limerick does a good job. He did a fair few for Na Piarsaigh players in the past. Don’t know if he’s competitive. Can’t remember exactly, but it’s not cheap. Depnds on the frame I suppose.

Only one way to find out. Challenge him to a game of pool

No harm in ringing anyway

Tell him you’re from Na Piarsaigh. He wouldn’t know. His daughter married one of the players.

Anywhere close to Cork Airport that I could bring the kids for a decent feed before flying? Would have to be within 20mins of the airport.

There’s a pub a few miles down the road called the 5 miles inn , I think it still does grub , used to be decent or head to Kirbys in ballinhassig, very good food there, around 15 mins drive
