CorkBeo understands at least 34 workers between Reardens and The Oliver Plunkett have been told there’s currently no work for them as bosses are reducing hours and shifts for the next few months.
The workers, who are mostly kitchen staff, were told they may get some hours for large bookings or events but otherwise their roles are on hold until it gets busy again.
A letter sent to workers of The Oliver Plunkett said: “When things change in the coming months, where we extend our opening hours again and business picks up, we would be happy to roster you for shifts at that time”.

Any hotel recommendations that are city centre-ish and not a huge walk from Parc Ui Frank
The Clayton and Old Jurys are probably the most centrally located between the city centre & PUC. Maldron would be nearby too and all pretty close to the station.
does it have to be a hotel? there are some good hostels up around shandon if all you’re doing is putting your head on a pillow
The Rezz would be cheaper but basic enough.
I’d call it in between a hostel and a hotel.
Mankiest shit hole I ever stayed in.
There was a decent one right across from Shandon I used to stay in.
