We’re in the long grass for next year, it suits us grand.

Who knows if Cork are ‘back’ but it’s been an encouraging year nonetheless and they’ve exceeded expectations so we’ll call it progress, they won’t be down forever either way.

What was the story with Cork’s use of Harnedy yesterday? Hard to get a proper read on TV but was he left inside for the entire first half? They seemed to play with a traditional 3-man full forward line or close to it anyway.

Meade, Lehane, Kingston;
Cadogan, Harnedy, Horgan.

Open to correction but it appeared to be S Fives on Horgan and Coughlan on Harnedy but D Fives did a great job as the spare defender and there wasn’t any space for Harnedy in particular.

Did he play deeper in the second half then when they took Meade off and brought off Cahalane? He didn’t really get into the game in the second half either though.

Did Harnedy play well in any game this year?

No.

If you watched any hurling you wouldn’t have to ask.

He is clearly not fit and struggling with a long term injury issue

That would be a total disaster.

The amount of people who can do a good job, have skills AND can placate the CB is extremely limited.

In fact without know how KK would go i felt there was nobe 2 years ago

Ah it was the wrong lad was it not that got red???

Think Kingston should have been sent off rather than Horgan.

Another game turns on poor refereeing and yet Owens is praised.

If Gleeson was sent off for the faceguard pull then it’s a different game and a different result.

Has he been praised? I thought he was very poor yesterday. No free to Waterford for first 23 minutes of the game. He was indecisive numerous times, constantly checking with linesman and umpires-while this should be a good thing if they’re in a much better position, it looked to me like he was trying to abdicate responsibility. He was constantly putting his whistle to his mouth yesterday and then taking it back down. Seemed fucking clueless to be honest.

Only in parts. Yesterday was his worst performance this year. He isn’t the player he was under JBM and hasn’t been for a while.

He played further out in the second half with Micheal Cahalane in the full-forward line and Meade off.

You’d have gotten ratty as well Fagan if you’d been told for the last month you only had to show up.

James Owens was excellent as usual yesterday.

De Burca is a much more important player for Waterford than Austin Gleeson. Obviously Gleeson is ridiculously talented but he’s doing his own thing more than playing with the rest of the team.

Austin Gleeson is rarely the most important Waterford player on the pitch and wasn’t yesterday either. He is a good lad to do something special once or twice a game however.

Waterford would have won without him yesterday
