Great to see he is loyal to his beloved Cork, home of sickos and weirdos

WEST Cork locals struggle to equate the Graham Dwyer described as “a predator” in the Central Criminal Court murder trial with the quiet, polite and studious young man who dutifully visited family and friends in Bandon.
The Dublin architect was described in the trial as someone for whom “wickedness (was) hiding behind a mask of pity”.
But in his native Bandon, he was known as a former boy scout, an honours graduate of Hamilton High secondary school and a young man who kept in close touch with his parents, Sean and Susan, siblings and local friends.
His father attended virtually every day of his son’s murder trial.
Graham was also close to his mother, Susan, sister and two brothers, one of whom now lives in Dublin.
While Graham has spent most of his adult life in Dublin, his connection to Bandon is underlined by the fact he chose to celebrate his 40th birthday party in the town in 2012.
He also travelled back to west Cork for a Munster Arms Hotel reunion dinner for the local scout troop in October 2013.
Just days later, Graham Dwyer would be arrested for Elaine O’Hara’s murder.
In 2011, he was involved in organising a reunion of his 1991 Leaving Cert class.
A former scout described him as “a lovely fella who was always obliging and willing to help”.
But the organisers of the 2013 scout reunion refused to discuss Dwyer with the media. Similarly, his school and school friends have refused all comment on the murder trial.
His school have gone so far as to remove Graham Dwyer’s photo from the corridor wall, lest anyone attempt to take copies of it.
One Deerpark neighbour, speaking on condition of not being named, said Dwyer and the children loved the summer trips with Sean where they would build their own shelter, and use rods to try and catch fish.
“Is it any wonder the family are so close? His parents moved to Dublin weeks ago for the trial to support Graham,” the neighbour said.
“They even brought their dogs with them. But everyone knows this has been really hard on them.”
