I was in town for an hour this morning,
Wall to wall bogus Roma homeless tappers just leaving to go home to sleep,
All organised,all groups putting their quilts away in clear plastic bags and all trundling off together to a pick up,
Meanwhile paddy genuine homeless tapper are standing about after being moved from their doorway,
Mess was incredible,
And bye laws need to be enforced as my towns turning into a fuckin kip,
Then you’ve day and daily aggressive begging and fellas batin each other and others walking around in drug induced trances,
All a recipe for disaster
Yeah its fairly grim around Merchants Quay now especially. Over towards the bus station and Old Jurys inn seems to be rife with drugs. Before it was mostly lads with 2 litres of Linden Village or 6 cans of Carling but they are shooting up willy nilly now. Heroin, Crack and god knows what else. No one goes into the city centre anymore because of the baiting and being harassed by these groups of people as you alluded to. You might go in on your own but certainly no place for a family.

I’d consider myself still handy with boots ,fist N head but I feel vulnerable on occasion in town at night,
2 weeks back heading to jack Fordes ( shandon) I came face to face with 3 young pikeys who were sizing me up,
Nothing for it but yo barge roughly through them,
Thankfully they must have thought it wasn’t worth the hassle,
CCFC were showing on the big screen v Longford
Won’t be heading up again for a 00,

Your on the ball, the city has gotten very dodgy since covid and a lot of people are all saying the same. Its not like it was safe haven before hand but you can feel a tenseness around all the time

I keep advising my smallie to stay in company when in on a night out,
He’s huge and is a black belt etc etc,
But the fucker thinks I’m exaggerating about what can happen,
Mostly he’s a 00 man ,
But still you’d need to be OTB
You can be as trained as him but nothing is stopping someone coming from behind or using a knife.
There are some dangerous looking fuckers around the town alright
