This whole Liam Miller thing is really beginning to grate now.

No offence to the lad or his family, a terrible thing for a young man to be taken so young but every cunt is putting the boot into the GAA now, the mob mentality has taken over. Initially I wanted it to be opened for this event but now I’d almost hope Frank and the GAA stand firm.

I’ve no problem with the GAA stance - however it shouldn’t be funded by state money if that’s the case. €30 million is a lot of cash. Imagine a golf club which was “men only” getting state grants, people would rightly be up in arms. Similar arguments are also made about state funding of religious ethos schools/hospitals.

Put your paw out for taxpayers money and your ability to be exclusionary should fall away pretty quickly imho.

Iv nowt against liam miller or his family and if they make a load of cash out of it more power to them. But there are fellas dying and leaving young families behind every day of the week. Id be a lot more comfortable with the charity side of it if it were a fundraiser for Marymount
