Cork weirdo/sicko thread

Why have all the Galibhan ignored this?

The fior gael gga stick stick and bogball bigots are squealing like pigs and running to hide behind grant agreements. It’s fascinating to watch.

This is what I have consistently stated here for years.

There are so many problems with Ireland’s stadium policy.

The root goes back to the GGA of course. Internally they have no coherent policy on the construction of regional venues and allow county boards to do what they want. As I say time and time again, concrete shitholes with support beams.

The problem is more nuanced than that though. Not even during the failed RWC bid was it discussed. We went from the hubris of morons suggesting Ireland had all of these fantastic 40/50k stadiums to people just slating the infrastructure when things went tits up. There is no reason with the money and resources of the State alongside the 3/4 major football bodies that we could not have adequate venues.

The GGA’s ban on foreign sports rule allowed this to go on for decades and people didn’t even mention it when PuC was given all that money. Instead people were praising the GGA for temporarily lifting it. Where were the journalists?

After the absolute fuck up on the Bertie Bowl and Croke Park, no single project should get the sums of money PuC got without a multi sports ownership and use dynamic.

The media, the government, the IRFU, the FAI- nobody questioned this. People were still kissing the GGA’s ass for opening up Croke Park for a hefty rental fee. It’s ridiculous it was allowed to happen.

Local soccer doesn’t own many grounds in this country. Years of repression will do that.

Theatres of hate.

I like that.

I like that a lot.

Years of repression. The irony is beautiful there.

Oh I see, the political and cultural repression of “foreign games” was to get back at the Brits for years of repression?

You know the history of your own makey uppy games right?

No, you don’t see.

Would be great to get a thread title change.

Australia have municipal stadiums don’t they?

Have a read of what you just wrote there and if you are older than 12 you might consider editing it

They do. Not all are configured for all sports as the AFL pitches are so big and there is big geographical difference in popularity.

I dont know the history - throw it up there to educate me.

And the dags, don’t forget them.

What repression?

So the GAA now needs to apologise for protecting its own interests? I suggest now that the GAA tell the entire fundraiser to fuck off and organise this event somewhere else.
