Weren’t you one of the cunts clearing the supermarket shelves prior to lockdown?
It’s incredibly selfish the way some people are using people getting laid off and people who lose family members to try and justify their need for a holiday and justify their need to endanger the safety of the general public.
How selfish.
Oi !!! Yellow card. I’m the only only one around here allowed use that term. Show some fucking respect
Brits will have Malaga airport riddled.
He then went out in public when he was advised by medical professionals to self isolate.
It’s disgusting, especially for the genuine cases.
It goes beyond aviation shares. FYI, I have rarely put money in aviation - read Michael Porter’s work on the industry as a whole.
Aviation is critically important to the economy though. That goes from the airline workers, airport workers, aircraft leasing (a particularly high value segment of our economy) to suppliers of same and businesses located in and around airports.
It’s easy to say that no inbound tourism can be offset by spending at home in the likes of Kerry. It isn’t true, it only reduces the impact. There are hotels and businesses that simply cannot function without inbound tourists.
That is aside from the humanitarian side. Immigrants here shouldn’t be able to go home for family funerals etc? The WHO (experts) caution against travel bans partly due to overall human rights. It’s easy for a self loathing middle manager with his family all in Ireland or an A Sexual with no friends to want to stay put, but not everyone’s circumstances are the same.
Air Bridges are a happy medium on the risk reward scale. Testing and quarantine outside of that. If countries have the infrastructure and low case numbers, they are as safe as Ireland and our own infrastructure such as contact tracing should catch the issues.
The idea that we should self sabotage large parts of people’s lives is insane. There are ways to have air travel and tourism, with risk mitigation the crucial part. Once the printing presses stop, we won’t be able to support large scale unemployment to the level we are right now. There has to be an effort to get things going.
It’s sad.
It’s not disgusting though, there’s a global pandemic at large and we have to take all the necessary precautions with regard to it.
I’d have a second cousin, a neighbour and very close family friend among others pass away during this, we’d all have liked to have been their and shown our friends and family our support and condolences but unfortunately with the situation going on we couldn’t. It’s sad but understandable too.
What’s been happening with funerals for the past three months here?
I’m heading home at the end of this week, can’t wait. I could do the same in New Zealand as well.
Sad to see my asexuality being brought out of nowhere to have a pop at me again. I’m starting to feel discriminated against.
Makes it all the more important you go be with their families as soon as possible. They need support.
People haven’t been able to go. So what? You could still look after closed loved ones.
Would you say it’s reasonable to stop someone living abroad to go home to help their family after somebody passes away? Where is your humanity?
These are not ordinary circumstances.
Exactly, they need you more than ever now.
You’d leave children orphaned then?
Horrible
A global pandemic is on its way.
It’s quite sad to be using someone who has lost a person close to them as a reason to justify others going on foreign holidays. We haven’t had proper funeral services for the dead in this country for over 3 months now, we haven’t been able to allow all the people who knew and cared about them to come and sympathise and see of their friend of relative. That is sad but it’s understandable.
The wellbeing of the general public comes ahead of that of one individual.
Orphaned?
Why would their parents ever contemplate leaving their kids behind?
A proper university
All valid points but there are costs associated with a second surge too.
