Correct. Anyway doesn’t matter I suppose, most here are calling it the coronavirus.

It is truly awful that anyone should depart this world on their own, or even curtailed in some way.

I don’t think there is anything more tragic in this whole crisis.

There’ll have to be a chance to hold proper funerals for families after this. People need to grieve properly. It’s a very important part of death for Irish people, to celebrate the life and mourn properly.

Its fucking awful is what it is

Is COVID-19 that terrible that such people are denied dignity in death? I don’t know.

So USA, Italy, Spain and now France have passed out Chi-na on the deaths front.

They have in their bollox. What’s worse is those Chinese numbers are fucking up everyone else’s responses

Stop being racist Julio

Labour is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labour, and could never have existed if labour had not first existed. Labour is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.

The CCP have fucked us all royally mate. Look at the timeline. Up to early February their numbers exploded, cases and deaths. As soon as the virus started to kill people outside China, they magically shut it down at home, no more cases, no more deaths, everyone recovered. Then they started a PR campaign to show what generous lads they were by sending faulty test kits and PPE to Europe.

You have to hand it to them really.

It’s a horrendous time. This is my worst nightmare really.

They just have no credibility on this at this point, from their initial reaction to the numbers.

Hong Kong were doing temperature checks on December 31st and were tracking it, weeks lost in this effort due to lies and cover ups. The West failed as a whole but we haven’t seen this for generations, Mainland China had experience of this previously along with Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam (each of whom reacted swiftly to this) and utterly fucked it.

Free childcare for Australian parents

By Eryk Bagshaw

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced a free childcare program for Australian parents.

Mr Morrison said those parents who needed to physically be at work should have somewhere that can take care of their children.

“If you have a job in this economy then that is an essential job,” he said.

“It is important that all of those parents who have children, that they get access to childcare and those facilities will be there for them.”

Wonderful move.

From what I can see, the government will pay 50% of the creche’s costs (up to a cap) provided they stay open and don’t charge the parents. Whether that’s an enough of an incentive to remain open I don’t know - you’d hope so.

It’s essentially a bailout to the whole sector, and also a massive assistance to parents who had their usual creche close, or were having to juggle babysitting with WFH.

@Fitzy will be fuming that ScoMo has knocked this one out the park.

What took the stupid prick so long?
In other news, I’d advise Qantas shares. Wesfarmers are about to launch a takeover.
Keep buying thise CSL shares as well.

100% the correct decision, very unfortunate but completely necessary
