But didnât the Chinese fuck for New Years? They saved themselves and fucked everyone less. Also if you canât believe the numbers of deaths can you believe anything else coming out of China which is my point.
They lie about everything and suppress free speech so who the fuck knows. ⌠Iâm not saying 8m of them died but I find it hard to believe it was just 3.5k also.
Thatâs fair enough we wonât fall out over it. I believe this is the end and not the beginning. I think a call will have to be made very soon for the good Of the country. We canât let society collapse. Itâll be much worse in my opinion.
Itâs certainly plausible that China has lied and perhaps lied heavily - youâd have to be a fool to rule this out given the nature of their regime - but up to now weâve had no real evidence and posters here who are going heavily with this theory have refused to give sources for where theyâre copying and pasting their opinions from - well actually one poster did link to a video last night but it was hilarious in its Alex Jones-like lack of credibility.
Itâs also far from completely implausible that the Chinese narrative could be largely correct. South Korea has so far very successfully contained the virus and nobody suggests theyâre lying. The truth could be somewhere in the middle.
One would also have to be a fool to dismiss the political vested interests of those heavily pushing the âChina liedâ narrative. Political vested interests are everything here. The UK and particularly the US are absolutely desperate to push that narrative to deflect from their own disastrous handling of the crisis. @labane1917âs postings here are a good guide to what the narrative of the Trump regime is - a massive amount of smoke, mirrors and racist conspiracy theorising which is desperately pushing a political narrative, and nothing other than a political narrative - itâs certainly not a search for actual truth - finding âfactsâ to suit political narratives as he and several other right-wing posters here consistently do is incredibly dishonest debating.
The biggest call will be locking down travel into/out of the country for months. Thereâs zero point going through all this just to let some fella with a bat in his backpack waltz back into the country and start it iff again.
Jaysus lad, would you ever deny landing just for one person
Iâd imagine itâs more than theyâre letting on but some of the conspiracy theories that have been bandied around here are comical.
Who is getting restless? This is a major inconvenience to people but I am still doing a days work, so is my wife. My kids are delighted with life in the main. Itâs a bit boring maybe but I could stick at this for the foreseeable if I had to
We are only six days in give it a few weeks and weâll see.
Well actually hopefully We donât
Agreed. But its not like we are in jail.
Not official but a news source had this.
The logic holds that unless there are some genealogical factors, it doesnât make sense for China to have such low numbers of infections given when we know it was in the community there.
I donât think people have a huge issue with what China did since January 23rd in terms of measures to prevent an outbreak. How many tests did they end up carrying out?
the many majority will cope but in my opinion itâs a balancing act. Death is part and parcel of life. Drink and fags cause people to die but it doesnât stop people. Itâs very possible this will be seasonal too but we have to learn to cope and move forward. We canât continue like this or society will fall apart in my opinion. We are seeing it in parts of Italy. The timing of the call will be crucial. I think largely the government have done well on the timing of calls but this will be the most important one yet.
Can We even trust the us intelligence re China at the moment given trump is at the helm?
Lads getting awfully worked up here when it is obviously clear that this thing is fizzling out.
Iâve been flat out denying people. But with EU citizens my hands are tied.
This is why in my view they should be looking to an EU level response to opening up and the key points along the way to do so. That will also have to dovetail into the UK but particularly NI.
Thereâll be a gradual return of schools and workers over a couple of weeks with social distancing maintained. I can see the Government maybe staging openings every couple of days to keep transport less packed, offices being asked to go 50/50 days with staff at home etc. Restrictions to hold on at risk groups. They can see where theyâre at then and maybe open up more of the numbers donât increase. Testing at that point wonât be an issue youâd hope with more rapid ones available. Keep the mandatory self isolation if you have symptoms, keep contact tracing.
Try tell that to @anon78624367 @carryharry @backinatracksuit and @Chucks_Nwoko Iâm sure theyâll throw a few insults about your family and what not your way as well.
Iâm not really concerned with the word coming out of the US or GB - I know thatâs tainted so I dont put any stock in it. China are not much better. The Korean measures worked because they were ready and had plans in place for such a outbreak- Europe wasnt. Europe also relied on what was coming out of China - Korea kicked into gear straight away.
