Coronavirus - Dig In, It's going to be a while yet

Just heard via WhatsApp that my uncles brother in law passed away with this the other day, I would have known him vaguely, elderly (early 70s) but otherwise healthy

Iā€™d be the opposite now myself, Iā€™d be more inclined to take the death or a relative family member or friend bad , dogs cats budgies goldfish and horses would have a less of an impact.

The person who is deemed medically to need it more. Just because you or I can afford health insurance, that shouldnt be the measure on whether someone should live or die. Itā€™s what causes the problems as it is, the belief that you have to have private health insurance. It unfortunately is a necessity, but there is no way that when in a circumstance of whether someone needs a ventilator, their financial capabilities should not be the deciding factor. It should be who is most vulnerable and needs it to survive.

Iā€™d agree Fully but what about if it comes down to two people one is a heavy smoker and the other isnā€™t? Where or how does Get decided if it comes down to this sort of thing? Is age a factor or what?

Iā€™m going by @anon26343222 criteria. His first position in that in people of equal age, their ability to pay for insurance or not is the deciding factor, not medical history or current physical condition. I believe that is totally wrong.

Ah ya Iā€™d agree with you here Iā€™m just curious as to how they decide. I think itā€™s one thing we can all agree on it doesnā€™t come down to that.

whatever the criteria itā€™s a fucking awful situation to have to choose to give up on someone. hopefully itā€™s a decision no Irish medic will have to make.

Israel of course does not discriminate by religion or ethnicity, or something.

AFAIK most of the politicians salaries are directly linked to civil service grades?

Anything to do with Arabs in that part of the world can be a ticking time-bomb

Israel are by far and away the most reprehensible state in the world. The make the orangemen look like good Samaritans in comparison.

Would you believe that GP practises are actually likely to start reducing hours/cutting pay because like many other businesses their revenue has dropped significantly.

I ordered a Deliveroo during the week and my food was placed on the ground and I had to pick it up when the lad said it was safe to do soā€¦

There are some lads here who tend to believe things like the following, for political reasons:
