Coronavirus - Here come the variants

Mate, we need hard facts here, not innuendo.

Iā€™ll just call it a fact and edit retrospectively as needed

The % has not moved much since they started tracking it. As the ECDC have stated, it has little relevance once the virus is endemic.

The point on the initial importation and ā€œnew variantsā€ is another one entirely and goes to the heart of Zero Covid. The reality on the ā€œKent variantā€ is that it was discovered months after it emerged and we could never have stopped it. The SAGE papers on travel suggested you could only delay the import of new variants with highly restricted borders and that they were not clear how that could work for somewhere like the U.K.

Itā€™s a sidebar issue with people looking to blame others. Roisin Ingle had a horrible article in the Irish Times about it yesterday. If it was written in the Daily Mail a couple of years ago it would have been called out by the left in Ireland who have suddenly decided that borders should be closed and that workers in certain industries qdonā€™t matter.

Gas that lads think a politician, who is sniping from the sidelines because he was sacked from Cabinet for being a bit thick, is having a good Covid.

I was talking about Brexit, not Covid

Pearse has made a fool of your hero Leo in the Dail more times than Colm Brophy has had hot dinners.

Leo is not my hero. That is Tom Prendergast.

Please amend your post.

A FFG apologist moaning about populism. You couldnā€™t make it up Most pandemic related decisions this government have made have been hugely influenced by the prevailing social media mood. I think you know this already because you have been on this thread complaining about it for at least 6 months.

Defending Pearse like heā€™s a football team you follow.

The usual log rollers liking it.

Iā€™d expect an idea or two from main opposition. Pearse talks about track and trace.

Leave it son.

Youā€™re forever jumping to the defence of a government that you are constantly moaning about. Youā€™re like an abused wife who wonā€™t hear a bad word said about her cunt of a husband.

Who did I defend. I said Cowen made sense. Then you got all annoyed because I said mean things about Populist Pearse.

They have the ability to vote against govt policy,

The likes of McSharry saying Varadkar was telling a fairytale story with regard to leaking the document and then backing him in a vote is very FF.
