Coronavirus - Here come the variants

For now a Finneganā€™s Breakfast will do

Outdoor pints, gyms and barbers from June 8th, I need my back, sack and crack waxed so thatā€™s really exciting

Great news,
Big one incoming here, youā€™re after poking the bear

Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Wonā€™t somebody help me chase the shadows away
Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day.

Is that an official announcement?

You are indeed imagining things. The data has just come out for 2020 (March 12th), so you couldnā€™t have had access to it before then. Sweden had +7.7% excess deaths for 2020 compared to the average of the prior 4 years, which is below the average for Europe, and 21st on a table of 30 countries.

Nobody, least of all me nor Sweden themselves for that matter, would claim they did particularly well. Time will tell how well they balanced the risks, but they appear to have a government who are somewhat sensible, unlike Ireland which is now a self-parody.

You just need to do your bit mate. :crossed_fingers: :+1:

Of course not.

As I thought, it was all a dream.

Is that nearly over in your mind, it is?

Ah well I have a week in Newcastle in Down booked for start of May. They have just announced there that they will be following Borrisā€™s lead on the 23rd April. Huzzah.

I never expected to see a reference to Polari on tfk.

Wicklow could have the two prospective taoiseachs duking it out in the next election. Fair chance Donnelly wouldnā€™t even get in

Nearly there now. Next 6 weeks are vital. Shoulder to the wheel etc etc. Rewards on the horizon for good behaviour.

2 weeks to flatten the curve was what almost 13 months ago. Iā€™ll believe it when I see it.

Should Sweden not be the worst hit if lockdowns worked?

Simon was on Matt Cooper there. For a year people have been wondering why couldnā€™t we be like New Zealand and introduce MHQ. Now weā€™ve introduced it and we are seeing what being like New Zealand is like warts and all. Vaccinated people with negative tests not being allowed home to see their dying parents.

For the vast majority of Irish people MHQ is for other people, not them. Fuck them for travelling they knew the rules is the attitude. It is nasty and mean and small minded and unfortunately I might even be the attitude of the majority.
