Coronavirus - the deadly virus that no one dies from

Bored.

Think her father is a Paddy Madigan but its not the late Paddy Madigan, the publican.

R rate still being reported at around 1.2 despite the rise in cases recently. This appears to reflect the low rate of community transmission. But all the talk now seems to be the 14 day average in comparison to other countries.

Better again. They added a death from June and then took one away. So the number is exactly the same 1,777 as it was yesterday.

Jokers.

Prof Nolan says the vast majority of cases associated with the recent outbreak in Kildare were asymptotic.

close down and wreck kildare for 3 weeks over a cod of virus that people don’t even know they have it, ffs, what is the country coming to? when is the Irish government going to come to its senses?

The R Rate is only mentioned by these chancers when it’s high.

Underlines just how progressive the Irish income taxation system is.

The rest of the year will be interesting. Plenty of people have moved into clearing credit cards and being good savers now. There was a report yesterday though that large expenditures continued to be down which isn’t great news and demand continues to be artificially decreased in certain sectors. We will have an army of people with cash to spend though if we can create confidence. I assume they will be tempted to raise taxes this Budget to cover the gap but that would be a mistake in the short term. The last thing we want is a total collapse in real estate values (some value being lost wouldn’t be the worst thing though) in cities which would have collateral impacts everywhere. We need to give the chance for entrepreneurs to reinvent city spaces and also give tourism the chance to get back off the ground. Deutsche Bank talked of Zombie companies in Europe due to subsidies today and it’s a valid point. Unfortunately with the culture change in WFH there will be coffee shops that will have to close but that might not happen until next year. I still think a lot of them will be saved as people will go back to offices and cities will revitalise but there is an inevitability about it.

I’d say there will be a levy at some point for the semi states and other transport bailouts (private bus companies, airlines etc). When you flick through the semi states annual reports and the emerging news reports, it’s clear that we are going to have to pay them billions and I don’t have an issue with a specific levy for them (I’d wait until mid next year to charge it though). That bill isn’t on that €30bn deficit I assume.

A death from June…As If this bastard of a virus wasn’t lethal enough, hiding around corners and waiting to pounce when we least expect it, showing no regard for borders or different genders and races… We now learn it can time travel. Lock it down to fuck.

It will go back and kill our parents before we were born, Skynet style. We have no hope

We need John Connors to step forward and release one of those traveller videos calling the virus out. He is our last hope.

The R rate was as high as 4.5 in March. There were concerns in July when it was 1.8. Now we are being told it could be as high as 1.2.

4 deaths occurred in the month of August.

Lolz.

You’d have to say lapsed poster @chocolatemice was on the ball here with this creep. He was attacked from all sides in March for having the foresight to call it out.
