Coronavirus Thread (Markey hates Immigrants )

What’s saolta group biff? Is this not absolutely earth shattering news to be revealed if the fella is trustworthy? Surely means ‘hospitalisations’ can be discounted as a relevant stat

It seems to be the grouping of the Connacht hospitals - Galway, Mayo, Roscommon etc

https://www.hse.ie/eng/about/who/acute-hospitals-division/hospital-groups/saolta/

The chap on Morning Ireland is the CEO of Saolta

He’s ‘from the saolta group’ maybe he’s the car park attendant. If someone senior it’s surely front page news.

He’s the CEO

That’s a bit more on it. He’s talking about this wave rather than all the way through. Still very positive and means hospitalisations shouldn’t a meaningful stat any more

The information on people in hospital from or with Covid seemingly isn’t available because the HSE don’t ask for it :man_shrugging:

I am sorry for loss pal, as well you know. I know how hard a time you and your family have had of it. But that is a very separate thing to the discussion we were having, if you don’t see that then fair enough, maybe you will in time, or maybe not.

What’s the latest lads?

The best we can hope for even for vaccinated people is 6 people at a table in a pub and the usual nonsense that goes with it? That’s the best we can hope for?

Italy bringing in “apartheid” for pretty much their entire recreational economy from August 6th.

It will be possible to carry out some activities only if you have:

  1. Covid-19 green certifications (Green Pass), proving the inoculation of at least the first Sars-CoV-2 vaccine dose or recovery from Sars-CoV-2 infection (valid for 6 months)
  2. carrying out a rapid molecular or antigen test with a negative result for the Sars-CoV-2 virus (valid for 48 hours)

This documentation will be required to be able to carry out or access the following activities or areas starting from 6 August next:

  • Catering services carried out by any establishment for consumption at the table indoors
  • Shows open to the public, sporting events and competitions
  • Museums, other institutes and places of culture and exhibitions;
  • Swimming pools, swimming centers, gyms, team sports, wellness centers, even within accommodation facilities, limited to indoor activities;
  • Festivals and fairs, conferences and congresses;
  • Spas, theme and amusement parks;
  • Cultural centers, social and recreational centers, limited to indoor activities and with the exception of educational centers for children, summer centers and related catering activities;
  • Gaming rooms, betting rooms, bingo halls and casinos;
  • Public competitions.

Indoors is happening Monday no matter what, Michael D came through for the people of Ireland. Small businesses the length and breath of the country are waiting with bated breath for the new guidelines. I’d imagine a lot of establishments will have pitures of QR codes knocking around upon entry

The very best of luck to you.

Well if you’re one of the lucky 20,000 to be privileged enough to witness the iconic sight of paddy small raising his hand aloft to call the advanced mark before putting Dublin 14 points clear of Kildare with 57 minutes on the clock there’s that to look forward to too.

The antigen test is a key difference to here though isn’t it. Why are we not using them here?

I don’t think Irish society or institutions are ready for it on any level, not in the amount of tests that would be needed, how they would be carried out nor in the implementation.

Paddy will be in the stand by that stage.

As they say around here ‘flesh that out’. Why can Italy do it but we can’t ?

Have we a date and time for this?

I’d make it my business to be there to see the left hand go up.

Basically Italy are going to let you do absolutely whatever the fuck you want so long as you’re either vaccinated or take an antigen test. Certain LIDTF posters are trying to twist this to suit their agenda.

Paddy doesn’t want to put his hand up and show the mark, sorry, the pass. He thinks its apartheid.
