What a damp squib this thread has turned out to be as expected.
I’m somewhat exhausted here after it all so will keep this brief.
The Callover was a great success last night, the highlight of which was when we all got some splendid pork crackling in a bun. Many of the group returned for seconds.
Of todays action, there were no real shocks as far as the Oaks was concerned. Gadget Girl was backed into an incredible 2/1 for outright honours. She got a very hard hunt and bump today and connections and backers alike will have had their hearts in their mouths. She got through to tomorrow anyway but i wouldn’t fancy her chances of winning it now. A few of the bitches i liked and will be checking their prices tomorrow are Skellig Mania, Party Flamingo, Call Her Now and Ocean Tolula.
Moving on to the Derby, there were a few surprises here with the likes of Tynwald Stuart and Re Me Martin dumped out. In short odds i saw one English pikie have a bet of €800 to win €100 on Tynwald Stuart (1/8). There was some commotion afterwards as for a while it looked like the pikie might not pay up and there might be a bit of a schmozzle but that didn’t materialise. Derby Pines looks the part and was very impressive to the eye today and on the clock. I also liked Kyle King.
The highlight of the day for me was undoubtedly getting my picture taken with Sir Mark. 2RE and i left after the Derby. SS**, MAD and their respective crews were in great form when we left them. All roads lead to tomorrow now…

None of my sweep dogs looked impressive. I believe SS** has Derby Pines who looked the best to me today and is now only 3/1 for outright honours. Who has Kyle King?
I would like to add a further note here to all TFKCSC members regarding dress code. I was very disappointed to note that none of the crew wore flat caps today. These will be compulsory tomorrow. Also, please wear at least one item of tweed.

There was some early action in there as members of the SS* crew got fed some hot info on a couple of dogs due off at Millersfield. It all came to nowt though as the mutts weren’t off a yard despite being backed as if defeat was out of the question. It passed away an hour as we were waiting for the thaw to arrive though.

edit: She got a hard hunt today and cramped badly, seems ok now but we’ll only know for sure after she runs tomorrow.
