Covid 19 - The economic fallout

Rugby is fucked.

Silver linings I guess.

Bar Hamilton & Mercedes winning again it’s been a great season for other teams.
Great crowds at the Portugal GP last Sunday too.

French soccer just missed receiving their latest tv payment I hear.

this is a fallout from March and the French Federation not finishing their season. TV companies won’t pay for games they didn’t get.

What are we waiting for to get crowds back?

Deaths below zero is it?

Sounds worse than that

Public sector demanding pay increases :joy::joy:

Sure all thatll happen is players wages will fall and what harm. Theyll hardly go off doing something else

Glas and I aren’t looking for handouts. If we want more money we’ll get promoted

this a very curios case of hail fellow well met.

First Portuguese GP since 1997 I think? I’d say they’ve actually had a boost in profile with (a) the calendar going ahead when a lot of other stuff was off and (b) so many GPs back in Europe this year, as is right and proper.

TV viewership hasn’t changed much, up in places down in places.

That’s from just the first race and says figures are up slightly in a lot of countries but down in Spain (hardly surprising with Alonso gone). I wouldn’t doubt figures are generally trending down, I have much better things to be doing myself that watching computers drive drivers around in circles for 2 hours.

I’d say Hamilton breaking Schumacher’s record has kept it in higher in the sports bulletins as well lately.

Money probably wouldn’t be in my top few reasons for getting promoted to be honest.

not the point i was making, but good to hear nonetheless

Being able to stand upright would have you on the shortlist anyway…

What do people think now? I’m hearing people say there could be a global boom if the vaccine works?
