“Cummies”

I reckon If I invested 5k in a mining rig for Ethereum, I’d have it paid back within 6 months. (Based on current prices)…

A lot of effort though…

What’s a mining rig?

I did some reading after your message … a lot of electricity too pal … Ideally you’d use someone else’s , like your work place. You’d get two rigs on the go for about 7k.

It would mean having something like this turned on 24/7 mining blocks on the Ethereum blockchain.

Savage heat off it so you’d reduce the cost of heating the house and drying clothes. You’d see a rise in your electricity bill though.

Did you work in the lecky prices into your profits?

I’ll do the maths again and get back to you on that. I was a few cans deep when I was doing the maths on it.

There’s a shortage of graphics cards at the moment as lads are buying everything they can to install in their mining rigs…

Get a windmill or solarpower on the go now and build up a reserve of electricity…

I’d used the services of a mob in Washington state. They would host and maintain the machine and you’d benefit from collective buying discounts on the rigs and energy costs which were absolutely minimal due to State grants and use of wind to power the grid.

Was a brilliant setup with online portal monitoring daily/weekly/monthly mining output and payout easy to external wallet. but cunts went bankrupt. Had about half a BTC in it at the time and 5 Ethereum so about 3000 then which was less than I’d made so wasn’t too put out. Slightly more pissed when I think about it today.

Have t come across any other similar offerings have you? Maintaining the rigs was the main thing I wanted to avoid.

Edit giga-watt was the company. Just looked it up there. Class action suits against the cunts. Imma go get mine!

Follow up question: can you explain what this means?

Put very basically ,Your machine is performing tasks - adding to the blockchain - and you get rewarded with a little crypto for your efforts. Think of it like a Boards.ie Moderator getting a star after their name for length of service and amount of moderation. …

It could take 4months for one ETH - currently trading at about €2.5k

So it’s doing sums for them and you get paid for it? You basically turn electricity into internet money and ruin the environment in the process?

Yup.

Everyone wins.
