With Cork involved for the first time in 11 years I think there’s big scope for a big name.
Roy Keane is too big.
Ronan O’Gara is more gettable but probably still too big.
I don’t think Up For The Match would be Sonia’s wheelhouse.
I think we’re looking at a Donners or a Derval or a Damien Delaney, or as an outside possibility a Dinny.
Err - Cork were in the final in 2021

Getting the obligatory Cyril Kavanagh in early. Cribbing about tickets no doubt.

He means pre split season
Was I talking about All-Ireland finals?
Actually come to think of it I’m sure Joanne said yesterday immediately post match that it would be Cork’s first All-Ireland final since 2013.
I think most Cork people wouldn’t be too unhappy to leave that mistake go unchallenged.

I made the mistake to a friend from down here that it was Cork’s first AI since 2013. Of course I missed 2021 like so many others. But the 2020 & 2021 AIs in hurling have an * after them, this we can all agree.

If Roy Keane mentions Cork’s win or the upcoming All Ireland on Sky with “Wrighty”, Sports Joe ie will go into meltdown looking for back pats.

Sure if there’s asterisks beside 20 and 21 then there’s asterisks besides every one of Cody’s all Irelands as they were won in the same formats?

Huh? The * is because of Covid chief.
David Meyler is a shoe in. He’ll tell a story about still having two hurls in the boot of the car and how his father used to send him pucking for hours on end as a young lad.

What has Covid got do with it?

John Creedon (might be more a soccer man)

Sport without fans isn’t sport at all.
Similar to how Liverpool’s League title* in 2020 doesn’t count either.

Sure if it was up to Kilkenny we’d never have fans at any all Ireland

80% of that season was played in front of fans. ‘Twas 2020-21 which was behind doors really.
Bayern won the Champions League the same year and nobody knows or cares about it.

Same with the Dubs and Shamrock Rovers, they don’t really count them as titles. What did Rovers play that season, 14 games or something like that? * big time.
