Mayo’s Larry Finnerty and fellow 0 times All-Ireland winner Michael Meehan on representing Galway now against All-Ireland winning manager and Galway destroyer Joe Kernan. This is all going very badly for Galway.
I can hardly recognise Joe Kernan. A once big powerful man. Havent seen him in years. Obviously none of us live in Tir na Nóg. Was he sick or anything?
I was amazed to learn he was only 48 when he managed them to the All Ireland.
Yeah wiki tells me he’s 70 but if you had asked me to guess I’d have said 80s.
Big Joe is shook looking
Des Cahill has stolen some living.
Joe Kernan and Michael Meehan are 2 lads you could spend hours chatting to. Savage sound men
Sean Armstrong has a fair posh accent
The Armagh man seemed to be looking at Des’s answers there
That Newbridge wan doesn’t deserve a ticket for that effort
She was thinking of hurling finals in the 1910s.
Did she think it was the average or what?
Poor aul Mairead Meehan had some rough time of things
Ah jaysus surely a Galway man living in Kilkenny doesn’t have to enter a competition to get tickets.
Kieran Fitzgerald another Galway legend was her boyfriend at the time. Only 25 or 26 when she passed. So many sad/tragic stories running through both counties. Because of that I find it the most conflicting AI final that I can remember where I cant call who I want to win.
why is Marty Mone on? Is he not from Monaghan?
For the roasters
Fair chance that young Caolan Finnegan from Crossmaglen would have been involved for Armagh tomorrow had he not been struck down with a Brain Tumour last Autumn.
He continues the good fight to this day.
She was in DCU around the same time I was there. She was friends with a bunch of girls in our class and would be around a bit when she was well and then you’d not see her for months. Didn’t put much pass on it until I got chatting to her one evening and she mentioned some of the illnesses. It sounded horrific. Seemed like she was liked by everyone. So like Michael in her demeanor.
Michael Meehan seems like an absolute gentleman alright - an outstanding footballer
