Cycle, crash, cycle, crash, cycle thread

Remco is leaving Soudal and will ride for Red Bull Bora next year. Will bring a Belgian entourage with him.

Nothing suspicious there at all at all.
Womens tour is worse than the men’s in that fewer dope but the dopers dominant

If she can mess around on mountain bikes, come back after ten years away, win the Tour by nearly four minutes then cycling is easy.

Marianne Vos like.
But the Dutch would never do PEDs.

In other news, Eddy Dunbar is moving from the Jayco team to Q365 next season. That’s the team built around Tom Pidcock where Rory Townsend also rides.

Some win. He’s 30. I’ve barely heard of him.

He’s English born. Won the national championship twice. Has been mainly on second tier (diddy) teams all his career.

The Vuelta starts this weekend. In Turin. First 5 days outside Spain. The race mainly taking place in the north of Spain this year so might be a bit cooler. Something like 10 summit finishes so a bit on the crazy hard side. Big favourite will be Jonas Vingegaard. Pogaczar decided life’s too short so sent his team mates Joao Almedia and Juan Ayuso to lead UAE. Irish representation from Eddy Dunbar who won two stages last year and young Archie Ryan who makes his Grand Tour debut aged 23. Rides with EF. Came second in the Tour of Austria in July behind Isaac Del Toro and did well in the Tour de l’avenir a few years ago.

I had a pneumothorax once upon a time. Collapsed lung in layman’s language.

This was probably his last year because his contract was up. Nearly 40 now. Six years since his last bad crash and he never really recovered from it.

Jay Vine won the first mountain stage in Vuelta today. Archie Ryan was in the break but faded a bit near the end. Some Norwegian leads the GC and Jonas is fourth 2 and a half minutes back. The GC guys are all within 30 seconds of him except Ayuso who blew up and lost seven minutes.

Brittle bones.

Second day in Pyrenees, 2 CAt 2 and 2 CAT 1 climbs. Might be one for the breakaway. Eddy Dunbar is already 30 minutes down could be a chance for him.

Tough ould climb today. UAE winning most days

That was also in training and was pretty bad too.
