It’s on!

The Giro d’Italia starts tomorrow in Bulgaria. Jonas Vingegaard the big favourite to complete the Grand Tour set. Pellizari the Italian kid should go well as should Egon Bernal who finally seems to be recovered from the big crash.

Fair mental stage at the Giro here, a real treacherous one in the words of King Kelly. Biblical rain to start the day left the roads like ice. Arrieta and Eulalio attack out the break, go way clear and it looks to be a 2 horse race for the stage. Arrieta goes down on a bad bend and Eulalio decides he isnt sticking around. Looks to be over, 30 seconds clear with 6k to go, but then he hits the deck. Seán says this will be a real exciting finish now

Insane finish!

Arrieta then loses control again on the descent and has to go down a dead end to stay upright. Once he gets back on the route he’s 18 seconds down with 1k to go. He doesn’t give up though and gradually reels Eulalio in and eventually outsprints him at the finish. Unreal effort

Never seen a stage like it.

Both men will be happy there, Eulalio takes the pink jersey and obviously Arrieta with the stage

Jaysus I’d be furious if I was caught like that by a fella who went down a dead end with 1500 metres left.

The Giro is always good for something mental. Arrieta’s father was one of Indurain’s domestiques at Banesto.

Anyone know what time the Rás Tailteann is supposed to start tomorrow? Ive to go near the route tomorrow and what to plan accordingly so i dont have to run the cunts over.

Nothing online about a start time just the route

Approximate times here
Rás Tailteann - Home

Ideal ill avoid it. Lucky for them

Ben Healy preps for the tour.

Starts Saturday in Barcelona with a team time trial.

He’ll be stage hunting. Won’t do much on the GC, missed a good bit of the season after a crash.
