Darren Frehill Mistake Watch

They’ve changed it now. Jonny is OUT.

Darren just told the whole country that the Rams scored their touch down with 1.25 seconds left on the clock.

Darren had a lovely Toasted Heretics reference yesterday - Galway and Los Angeles

BTW their album Another Day Another Riot is now on Spotify.

Darren started the show today saying it was one of his favourite shows with all the permutations in the league.

I’m sure this thread will be hopping today.

Darren was doing a round up at some stage yesterday on Div 3 of the NFL. He read out the results and then the fixtures for next week. You could imagine him there then thinking about the permutations. However all he could say was “Interesting, very interesting, what an interesting divison”. The listener was none the wiser to the league table and promotion/relegation permutations.

It’s amateur. They were doing the round on Sunday Sport yesterday.

‘Now to Ennis to Des Cahill. Clare are leading here against a strong wind…[goes on like this]’

No mention of the opposition. You might get it in a recap of the score at the end of the report or maybe not.

Barry Davies said the exact same thing once but it’s all about the way you tell 'em.

Next Sunday is like Christmas day for this thread. Scores going in all over the country and poor Darren trying frantically to work out all the permutations. What a time to be alive.

Not to dampen your expectations too much but the 4 NFL games are to be staged over Saturday and Sunday at completely different times. The appointed starting time for the 4 games (Sunday 1:30) will only apply to the Tipperary - London meeting in Thurles for who’s benefit (LDN)the time was set initially.
If there’s 1 thing you can depend on the GAA for it’s their never changing inconsistencies……

That’s a joke in fairness.

FFS, it’s one of the best days of the year.

Maybe this was done with Daz in mind.

He’ll still make a hames of it.

He’s on pretty safe ground in D4. Cavan and Tipp win and are promoted. No relegation.
We need a myriad of things to go right to set the cat among the pigeons.

Is there a possibility of a few teams on 5 points in Division 1 making a final if they win and relegated if they lose?

If Armagh and Mayo both lose too.

Yeah he was hyping up division 4 as a minefield Sunday of last week. Even mentioning Wexford who were at the time on 4 points from 5 games as still being in contention. I had a look to see who Cavan and Tipp had in the final two games then and realised it was a foregone conclusion.

Div 1 looks exciting. Kildare currently sitting pretty in 4th but could easily end up in the bottom 2 before the day is out. Also have an outside shot at promotion I presume as Mayo are only on 7.

The winner of Dublin Monaghan (Dublin in all probability) will survive. That would bring Dublin to six. At least one of Kildare, Donegal and Tyrone, all on five at present, will lose. Donegal play Armagh in Ballybofey and are the most likely to win in my view. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Poor old Darren will have a team both in a league final and relegated on the same day.

A few draws in any of the divisions and scoring difference will wreak havoc with him. Jacqui will eventually tidy everything up before Daz shrugs his shoulders and says where else would you get this drama.

At the very end of Morning Ireland, Audrey Carville announced that news had just come in of the sudden death of author Kazuo Ishiguro.

But there is no reputable source reporting his death. It’s a hoax.
