Starting next year all Players Championship events will be midweek.

The lower ranked players are really going to struggle with work commitments. You won’t be able to juggle a full time job with making full use of your tour card. It’s like the PDC want to squeeze out those who can’t commit.

For example, Radek Szaganski lives in Cork, is ranked 83 on the OOM as of today. Has 33.5k prize money and drives for Bus Eireann in Cork. When you’re that low in the rankings it’s a struggle.

They free weekends will allow the big names to do more exhibitions now.

Don’t think the PDC have any plans to introduce a prize money guarantee like there is on the snooker tour.

Met Lewis years ago and he was very sound. So was Taylor the night I met him. I can’t think of any of them that weren’t some way a good laugh bar Barney.
