Not much progression if indeed any from the Liam Dunne years. Dunne in making the quarter finals in 2014 and 2016 took the scalps of the All Ireland champions Clare and Cork for the first time in 60 years since 1956.

Good article but hurling would appear to be an exception to the rule, but saying that i presume every team is managed by a former player these days

That doesn’t really prove anything.
Only 2 of those I would call out and out coaches.

MOD went thru thru he right process
As did DOG

Sheedy was given a gifted team and it was coached by someone else

Allen was shown up after, he was handed an Ai by DOG

What coaching did Michael Ryan do? I am genuinely unsure. He learned within the organisation as a manager. But that’s not coaching.

Cody has not coached in years and many would argue he was poor. Management is different.

NE was a JBM type figure. Only nick knew when to get out.
