There has been a bit of a clamour for my to charter a course for the forum between deaths that forumites may have actively wished for (e.g. Gerard Ryan) and deaths that occur but while unregrettable and not deserving of mourning, were not actively sought or directly prayed for (e.g. above).
I am honoured and privileged to have been asked to charter this course for the forum.

V good thread. Is this for the likes of Charlie Haughey

Philip Coutinho

I have been petitioned heavily by a number of high profile posters and am coming under a lot of pressure to expand the remit of this thread to speculate on how i would react to the death of a person who has not yet passed (for example “i would do cartwheels if i heard that whingebag austin stack died” or to look back at deaths that have already occurred and to put them in this context (for example "i would not have mourned the death of veronica guerin ").
however i intend to steadfastly resist this pressure and to ensure that this thread focuses on only recent deaths and lists only those whos deaths i did not actively wish for but that i shall not mourn.

I did not wish for the death of andrew sachs but i shall not mourn his passing.

Moksđź‘Ť best pint of Beamish on Cork-------- from happy carefree memory

Was he kind of a Cyril tribute act?

I won’t say it’s a low point for the forum but it’s a fairly pathetic post
