Did TJ deliberately throw the Munster final 2014?

There was something about Limericks second half performance that day that leads me to think that maybe TJ instructed his players to
go out in the second half and only go half hearted at it. Just make it look like ye’re trying lads type thing. I’d be suspicious. Remember this 5 week layover caught Limerick on the hop the year before. Limerick have 19 Senior Munster titles. Is it a bit early to be turning our noses at Munster titles? Any thoughts?

None at all Peter

No Limerick man could deliberately throw a game of snakes and ladders against Cork, not to mind a Munster final in their backyard FFS.

Fair enough but I’m not convinced. How in the name of God did they lose that match? I remain a skeptic.

nonsense talk

year 1 Limerick win munster and exit at all Ireland semi stage to eventual all Ireland champions
year 2 Limerick lose munster and exit at all Ireland semi stage to eventual all Ireland champions

so winning or losing munster didn’t make any overall difference later. either way weren’t good enough to beat the eventual all Ireland champs.

Onwards and upwards pal, Cork got the goals on the day we didn’t unfortunately. The timing of the goals were a killer as well but that’s besides the point.

Fair enough kerry but you haven’t convinced me.

I know all that famous but was it a case of Limerick pretending to be beaten in defense when all along we were in complete control?

Our defense was poor on the day pal, POB and Gavin were picked out for uncharacteristic criticism afterwards, plus you could say Tom C struggled against Cadogan in the corner.

It’s possible those three players you mention deliberately played below their best. I’m just putting it out there.

It’s all part of a longer term strategy mate. Limerick hurling is about to enter a golden age, our only challengers were likely to be Clare so we let them have one so they’d be stuck with davy. Sacrifice one to save the many

The players did complain that week to Teege that they over trained in the build up.

TJ admitted as much in the post match interview, it was admirable of him to do so in fairness. He won’t make the same mistake this year.

He did not want it in his first season:rolleyes:

What else did ye want to be like clare

And if he did he was stupid
