My weekend in Newcastle in tatters. Flight from Dublin cancelled.

I’d say it because air Lingus were using that emerald air that those shit planes could not take off this morning.

That sounds like the episode of Fr Ted when they were stuck in the caravan.Hell.

The Dublin folk are awful racists.

The UNVETTED foreigners are taking their jobs

Lorry them in this year is what I say, another 100k Ukrainians this year and all the rest, lets see how tolerant Paddy really is

The replies to that are a fairly interesting insight into the mind of the looneys

No, that whole thing is toxic sludge best avoided

I’d love if a car load of Donegal brickies mad to get home home after a week working the sites in England hopped out and kicked the absolute shite out of them.

Irish Twitter is a nawful place

Its pretty nasty. Grand for a browse of a Sunday though.

It is, but you need to realise that, much like on here, it’s full of crackpots, with too much time on their hands, no filter and most likely running 27 different accounts and replying to themselves.

@Batigol and his mates asleep at the wheel. How could a lad get the whole way through to a plane with the number of checks in place at security, the gate, and the plane?

There was a whistleblower recently saying that the security is terrible and not fit for purpose there.

Christ they will be swabbing everything that moves now for a week or so after this

There’d be at least 3 checks wouldn’t there?

I always thought Dublin security was decent in comparison to other airports, particularly in T2. T1 might be different as they’re more interested in checking your bag size than seeing your boarding pass. And the Ryanair flight staff don’t even check boarding passes anymore in most cases

Boarding pass would be checked at security then at the gate, along with the passport.

No they keep failing audits and the like at DUB.

On a recent flight from Dulles Airport (Washington DC) they were using facial recognition software at the gate to check passports. I understand this is being rolled out across airports in US currently.

They also had those security scanners that meant you can leave all electronics in your satchel.

KLM I used to find particularly lax for checking anything when boarding planes. Generally though to get to security in thr first place you’d need to scan something.
