Does whiskey go off after its been open for a bit?

Powers John’s Lane 12 year old.

Christ that’s a good whiskey!

The brother spent xmas with us, having recently lost his partner of 27 years to the curse that is cancer. The Powers was a not needed thank you.
We drank it between us and enjoyed it with tears and hugs.

The game of cards went skew ways. We ran out of porter and a 21 year old Redbreast was polished. Liquid gold.

Who was the pigeon who gave up the good bottle?

I think I’m still drunk

@anon7035031 could I get Yukon Jack in Ireland?

No idea mate but why would you drink that Canadian shite when you could get a decent bourbon for the same price.

Man dear. You’re asking a lad in America if you can buy a Canadian whiskey in Ireland. Would you not be better asking someone in Ireland, or Canada?

Labane knows everything mate. Just ask Labane, he’ll confirm this.

@anon7035031?

100% correct.

I’m the second in command when it comes to whiskey. He needs to check with @Malarkey.

He’s apparently having sex with three different women a week since he turned 18.
He wouldn’t have the time to be melting down on here anymore.

Redbreast 12, pound for pound, is the best whiskey on earth

Got a bottle of Jameson’s Caskmates IPA for Christmas. Poured a sup there tonight. I wouldn’t have much of a palate for whiskey but it tastes the exact same as normal Jameson as far as I can tell anyway

The stout version is way nicer

Great shout.

I’m of the opinion you can divide whisky into four groups. Peaty/non peaty/cheap (<20)/expensive (>20)
After that it’s all the wan.

I don’t know about the Caskmates but the Black Barrel (as recomended here) was a whole new experience for me. Found a big difference to the normal stuff, and the hangover wasn’t as bad either. Hard to see me buying more though, assuming it’s gone back up to €50 a bottle.

I have two bottles of the 30€ black barrel beside me here in the bed. Both unopened I hasten to add.
