Another one gone to the wall today - Roe & co

They’ve got nowhere near the wall yet. Sure they’re owned by Diageo. They’ll just sell off whatever was produced and disappear into the abyss.

Well they’ve “ceased production”.

Yes, gone to the wall would usually mean the company has shut down and a clatter of job losses. Presume in this instance they’ll all find jobs in one of the other Diageo divisions if they want.

Ok pedantic Jim

They’ve closed the doors. Maybe Mary and Joe will be reassigned but you won’t be seeing any more new bottles of Roe and Co

I actually liked it the couple of times I had it. If it was on offer for €25 over the next while I’ll get a few bottles.

They had a huge marketing push behind them. Were they the ones with the visitor center near Christchurch?

In a disused brewery building nearly directly across from St James’ Gate. There’s another distillery nearer to James’ Hospital in an old church and then Teelings is about 10 minutes walk away too

Pearse distillery operated out of an old disused church building are you thinking of them?

No Roe and Co had a building up there too definitely

That’s the one I’m thinking of

Diageo, for an international drinks giant with unlimited budget, are not very good at creating new brands

What’s the last one they created that worked? Rockshore? And that’s only worked cos they can just flog it for nothing everywhere they have taps already and make paltry margin on it

I hope my cask investment is secure

I’ve seen a few cases mentioned in the papers recently about cask fraud. Are you (or the group your with) the legal owners of the cask?
