I never heard of the freshly-baked-biscuits one before. 
A modern blended Irish whiskey from Dunville’s, 1808 is a bold combination of grain, malt and pot still whiskey that has a fruity, spicy character. Aromas of creamy vanilla, crunchy apples, pears, lemon curd, malt and lemon zest fill the nose, complemented by notes of buttery cereals, freshly-baked biscuits, ripe oranges, lemon meringue pie, charred oak and white pepper throughout the palate and wisps of smoke lingering in the finish.
To my shame,Ive never tried Scottish whiskey before.I dont know why or how but I havent.
What would be a good recommendation for a first time tipple?

It’s Diageo’s/Guinness house whiskey they added to portfolio a few years ago to have a whiskey brand after they sold Bushmills. Name is a reboot of a distillery beside James

I’d say it’s worth 30-35. Better than the entry level jemmy and powers.

I had a 43% west Cork ard dhusce I think it was called there last week for 30 quid out of SV…v good value but you’d know all a kit the strength of it the day after
Did you ever have the Clonakilty whiskey?
I have. I don’t know is it worth the premium over west cork or black barrell etc which are more freely available on a bargain
It’s decent though I wouldn’t be an expert by any means

I got the west cork the last couple of Christmases from a supplier (guess there is a link)
It was meh, Jameson standard , needing a mixer.
