Should be interesting, and I wish him the best of luck, but his record post-Cork hasn’t been great (I think). Did nothing with Carrigtwohill anyway.

One wonders how the Limerick team will play.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there was another twist in this yet. If O’Grady does indeed get it i wish him and his management team the best of luck, but i have a feeling it won’t work out with him at the helm. There is no doubt that he is an excellent coach and manager but what’s right for Cork isn’t necessarily right for Limerick. I hope i am wrong.

False bravado is a dangerous thing. Confirmed on Morning Ireland now. Selectors I gave were named with some to still be officially confirmed. Regardless of costs you couldn’t have hoped for a better name for this job.

word for o grady and tj was flying about on friday but i never dreamed it possible, didnt he rule himself out publicly fairly recently?

id be happy enough that some form of stability is about to arrive in limerick hurling, which maybe should be enough of a target for 12 months or so but he should be able to sort discipline and the dual player issue.

get out of D2 ahead of the clare cunts should now be do able and after that just get hurlers wanting to hurl for limerick.

Never ruled himself out HBV, said in an interview that he hadn’t been approached which the Examiner interpreted as he ruling himself out. Obviously he was spoofing as he had to be in talks at that stage. Agree with you on the need for stability and the main goal for 2011 being a promotion from D2. Will take a bit longer than that to be competitive at championship level I fear.

They had been in talks the week before that but they ran into trouble over “expenses” package.
They then tapped up a few other fellas in the past couple of weeks but had no joy so reverted back to DO’G and gave him what he wanted.
