I’m at lesson three the day after Limerick v Kk… I don’t know if I’ll be in the right frame of mind either way.
I hope you didn’t delay competent drivers who were trying to go about their business?
I had a few pints the night before lesson two and wouldn’t do that again, even though the lesson was the next afternoon. I’m giving up the grog for a while after this weekend in preparation for my hip surgery so I’ll pack in a handful more lessons in a short period of time. I might grasp it more then but probably not.
What made you go for the surgery pal? Do you think if you had learned to drive in your late teens you would have avoided at least a decade of walking further aggravating your hip issue?
I want to take up tennis again, pal. I have an incredible two-handed sliced forehand that keeps ridiculously low but I can’t really move laterally at pace or twist properly these days.
Stick to learning how to drive first I’d say. If you where living anywhere other then the pale you’d be goosed. Public transport is a myth outside of Dublin.
Best of luck mate is always wanted to play it but never had the opportunity. I coulda been a star at tennis, NFL or rugby league, but I’ll never know now. As regards the motoring practice makes perfect, get your own jammer and just get out there. And always presume everyone else on the road are fucking retards.
Townie cunts…If you can’t pilot the oul’ lad and his pals home after a funeral or a match by the time you’re 9 then forget about it.
What are sons for Fathers ask themselves??
Alternately, start with a tractor, @Kinvara’s Passion can provide lessons/rural pursuits/accommodation all for a small fee.

True for ya. Could never trust a fella that can’t drive or needs lessons from someone else. You’d think twas Manhattan these lads were brought up.
Never mind them boggers Walter, they were giving out the likes of driving licenses and tax amnesty’s like communion wafers back in Boxtys day. It’s a bit tougher nowadays but keep determined. After your 12th lesson you’ll already be a more accomplished, polished, not to mention safer driver than 90% of cunts currently using the road.

Thanks for the referral Boxty. Kickback coming you’re way.
Your kind words and good wishes mean a lot to me, pal. Thank you very much.
He’s an abomination.
How’s this going mate? I’m about to start learning ridiculously late myself.
Could you drive any bit before you started getting lessons?
How much is the instructor charging you?
@Colin Montgomerie …have you been able to drive the girlfriend to the cinema on a Saturday night yet??..big step pal…well done…
@colin Montgomerie/ @Julio Geordio - if you can’t drive now then there is really no point learning as we’re on the cusp of driverless cars
Highway to Heaven if these 2 are left behind the wheel at this stage.

Alright, mate. I haven’t had a lesson since before my hip surgery but I have one booked for next week. I’ve had 7 of the mandatory 12 lessons so far and progress is/was slow.
Ideally, I’d have my own car to be practicing in between lessons. I find the first part of each lesson is reacquainting myself with it and getting comfortable.
I’ll probably be back to square one now given the lapse of time since my previous lesson - I couldn’t drive before my first lesson.
Most instructors have bulk deals for the mandatory 12 lessons. My chap charges €290 or something or else €35 for an individual lesson.
Good luck, pal.
Probably best to steer clear of @Colin Montgomerie 's instructor if he can’t improve his driving after 7 lessons. Monkeys could teach ants to drive quicker.
I’m a very special case.
Very, very special.
