Drugs in sport (and non sports)

If Nadal’s a juicer then so are the others at the top of tennis given they match him in terms of endurance and conditioning.

I don’t disagree with any of that.

I’y say thats a fucking certainty.

Barca’s drugs must be a lot better than what the other teams are being served up.

And the Barcelona squad suffered far more injuries under guardiola’ tenure than before.

What players?

Tbf Messi just stands around and does nothing when the other team have the ball nowadays

The Barcelona players.

You’re talking bollocks, their key players have been clocking up 70 games for club and country year on year for about 8 years now.

Xavi
Busquets
Alves
Messi
Iniesta
Pedro

The key players, who were the engine of that team missed next to no football in a high pressing team that were dependent on their mobility, tempo and energy.

It was unprecedented, managed by a juicer, where the club had fed HGH to their star player when he was barely into his teens, in a country with a dubious outlook into clamping down on steroids. If you can offer a similar team on the modern era whose players were able to consistently rack up the no. of games the Barcelona players were then fire ahead.

Or you can continue to hide behind a vague point you’re unwilling to develop.

So you say.

Unfortunately the statistics don’t back that up.

You haven’t offered any statistics. I have and they show what Barcelona players were able to endure was unprecedented in the modern games.

Do you dispute the fact that Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Messi and Co were clocking up 70 odd games a season year on year on year. Those types of figures are unprecedented by any other group of players or teams in the modern era.

What statistics have you to contradict that?

Classic @glasagusban , a great sweeping statement to sound knowledgeable but produces zero evidence to back it up.

Classic @TreatyStones, sniping from the sidelines.

Why would I need to contradict that? I contradicted a different point. Stop trying to move the goalposts.

You said minimal time on the treatment table for Barcelona players. That is simply not true.

It is a fact that Barcelona under guardiola (the team you are aiming your ire at, the team that you said spent minimal time on the treatment table) suffered far more injuries than the Barcelona squad of the five years previous.

Considering Pep is known for hard training and not a whole pile of science i would not be flabberghasted if true.

What kind of stuff would they be on kev?

How the fuck do you know what peps training is like?

kev is the expert on strength and training on here pal, he know’s what he is talking about

I’m not doubting he’s an expert but I find it hard to believe a billion euro worth of an organisation have poor s and c or that pep g the best coach in the world doesn’t pay experts in this field also.

Pretty freely available really.
Most clubs/managers styles come out eventually. Pretty easy to track with injuries and types of injuries as well if you know what you are looking for.
In Peps case its very well documented. Alot of this stuff comes out tgrough the Physio/S&C world due to the fact that many managers ignore advice and said medical staff get frustrated, move somewhere else and spill the beans.

Also in Peps (and a few others also like Klopp & LVG) case he has the outspoken and well known Coach Raymond Verhijen has been on alot of coaches cases and has exposed a few over the years. He actually predicted the Liverpool injury crisis exactly how it happened.

Notwithstanding the Bayern Doctor of 30 years left because of him.

Pro soccer is wall to wall with old school coaching supported by yes men, usually other ex players who haven’t a notion and are uneducated so they reject Sports Science strongly.
