When Dublin supporters realised what a fraud Jim Gavin was, they high tailed back to following the Premier League.
Ger Brennan being banned from u10 training is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS
I thought the time bans went out a while back for match bans?
I dont think its staggering at all. We are not very good. Probably at our lowest ebb since 1998 or 1999. When a team is not very good support falls off. The crowd in Croke Park on Sunday was poor but was still the biggest crowd of the 4 matches played. Dublin also had the biggest attendances during the league.
Pat Spillane getting hysterical about the Dublin crowd is gas. I’d say he might want to look closer to home. 20k in Killarney for the all ireland champions v their nearest rivals is a really poor showing.
Have you ever seen a bigger picture? Tease it out. We have a manager who has been suspended from managing due to assault on a field. Now, Gers wasnt the worst, agreed, but lets view it from some lad who goes out onto a field and cuts the head off a player with a hurl in a Junior B match in West Cork. You’d think that lad should just be suspended from that team, and allowed manager others? Because thats what you’re suggesting here.
Ger done wrong, he knows it. Was he harshly treated, possibly, but I’d prefer the rule to be harsh to all who go onto a field and get involved. The field is no place for anyone other than the players and the referee. Anyone who does otherwise, leaves themselves open to suspension from GAA activities.
Ah for fuck sake.
Call me absolutely crazy but I don’t think ger Brennan should have been banned from training u10s for three months because he grabbed a ear piece out of someone’s ear at a senior match.
Maybe I’m an outlier again on this one.
So you want bespoke rules brought in for the CCC to deal with specific instances. How would you go about writing those up? Now bear in mind, some counties, maybe for example, in the instance of one of Gers teammates in a game Ger was playing in, got a legal expert to drive a massive truck through the GAA rulebooks, necessitating the utter clamp down on how the different branches of the GAA needed to work to prevent such carryon.
“The GAA”
“Rulebook”
Lolz
There’s a deep but unspoken psychological desire within all involved with Dublin football to have a six to ten year fallow period where the Dublin Senior Football team stumbles from one hilarious defeat to another culminating in a six point beating by the St Vincent’s under 10 team Ger Brennan is managing.
You should understand this as a Kerryman.
Pitch invader ![]()
ffs
He was part of the backroom team.
I seen someone on twitter say mcguinness "smashed into the kerry player " was that you by any chance?
By God.A Kerryman commenting on attendance figures being down for a team not going well .
Wasn’t named though. Serious dodge
God forbid you’d update a rule book by closing loopholes and the like .
I hope the referee was dealt with
Ah you’re right yeah he should be banned for 12 weeks from under 10 coaching
So there should be a clause allowing someone to coach U10s if they’re suspended for this incident, based on what? How would you word the clause.
They should decide on a case by case basis. So if some fella comes onto a pitch columbine high school style and guns down the ref and his umpires he should have to take a back seat at go games for a few months. If he does something minimal like Brennan he should serve a ban at senior but be allowed run the game of bulldog at the end of u10 training.
What Brennan did wasn’t minimal. He is an intercounty manager on live tv entering the field of play with no right, and wrestling with another mentor. That is not minimal and has to get suspended. That suspension should carry, or else whats the point.
