Jaysus , are Boden gone that bad ? I think their B team gave that Faughs team a right game in B semi final last year ?

Boden are sort of in transition. They were an.old team for the last number of years snd a lot of their good aul lads have moved on. Some decent young lads coming but they are not really ready yet. Today Niall McMurrow, Niall Ryan, Fionn Murphy and Paddy Dunleavy not starting so i think they could be vulnerable.

Faughs are limited but have some momentum after a win v Judes the last day and would love it (like Kevin Keegan) to put one over on yhrir neighbours.

Faughs previous manager now with Slaughtneil

Nevin?

He was well liked and ultimately forced out due to internal politics which led to that other ginnit taking them.

Raheny will be marching across the main avenue of St Anne’s Park this evening to take on Clontarf in a Senior B hurling championship local derby. Raheny are 1/2, while Clontarf won both their games so far. Throw-in on Pitch #35 is 6.30pm. I must say, I find it unusual that Dublin has senior championship games at venues where the pitches aren’t enclosed.

Or the fact that there is no entry fee for these games

Nope. ROD

Gas that these two are senior now (well sort of senior). They wouldn’t hurl spuds to ducks twenty years ago. I blame the gaelscoils.

What’s the story with Pitch numbering in St. Anne’s Park

There’s not 35 pitches there?

I’d say there are if you count soccer

There is between all the different sports. There are at least six gaa clubs with pitches assigned to them in the park. There must be 15 pitches in the area where Clontarf are based and across the way between GAA, rugby and soccer.

Another 8 or so where Raheny, Barróg and Scoil have pitches plus soccer and rounders

Clontarf’s pitches puts Raheny’s haggard to shame

Those top two pitches backing up onto the Howth Road petrol station have been converted to soccer pitches in the last week too. They were changing the goal posts during the week.

Split season sure.

Raheny’s pitches were always a dump. Clontarfs were always the gold standard for council pitches.

Did you ever play in Belcamp Park? You’d be trying to park your vehicle within sightline of pitch

Far better use, to be honest.

Pitch 1 was totally unsuited for GAA ghough (shared between Raheny and Vinnies rarely used it), and pitch 2 was a rugby pitch which only seemed to be used by Raheny Utd juveniles for training as well as a gang of frisbee players

Now they have put in 3 soccer pitches there.

I believe Raheny are getting pitches 6 and 14 as a quid pro quo

Barrog probably have no entitlement to any pitches in St Annes ax their clubhouse is in Fingal but it’s almost impossible to get the buggers out. Politics, don’t you know

Didn’t Dublin sometimes use the Clontarf pitch to train on? Those two Clontarf GAA pitches side by side are in very good nick. The Clontarf Celtic soccer pitches alongside them are in a fairly poor state, much like the Raheny GAA & soccer pitches over on the other side. I don’t know how/why the Clontarf GAA pitches are so far ahead of the other ones. Did they get control of those two pitches from the council at some stage or something & lay down a more fancy pitch from their own resources or what? I’d hate to think the council showed favouritism to more salubrious Clontarf.

Clontarf pumped money into them - some blowhard from Clontarf wouldn’t let me warm up a minor team on the pitch and was waffling on about soil pulled out of a lake or bog in Fermanagh or some such one wet day to me

Clontarf managed to get control of those 2 pitches somehow

Sand based, they are a huge upgrade on anything else in the park

In the winter when the Corpo often call.off the whole park due to waterlogging, pitches 34 and 35 are almost always exempt

That’s before the floodlighting even comes into the equation.

Men against boys on pitch 35 at half time. Clontarf must be around 10 points ahead but I’ve been chit chatting & not paying full attention. Maybe 1-11 to 0-4 or something & they’ve driven a load of wides. Raheny playing with a sweeper but spaces all over & getting horsed out of it physically.

Is there a latest Dublin GAA scores website or Twitter account?
