I don’t think railway cup has attracted crowds since the 60s. Definitely was 2 men and a dog since the 80s anyway. Even if getting picked for it was slightly more prestigious than it is now. (is it still played even?)

I remember Johnny Pilkington being rude to me when I asked him for an autograph at Railway Cup weekend in Wexford Park in around 1991. Could anyone confirm when Wexford Park hosted the Railway Cup weekend? It was when the old dressing rooms were up in the corner at the entrance by Clonard Church and the teams that weren’t involved in the match were sitting on the concrete benches to the side of the dressing rooms.

I’ve seen it about 12/18 months ago and it’s bang average. There’s a few guys who’ve devoted a lot of time to keeping the flag flying and have cameo appearances.
