I find it very interesting that the first reaction of so many to an event in which the real victims are the overwhelming majority of law abiding people who live and work in Jobstown, is to vilify the people of Jobstown - ie. to blame the victims.
There are an awful lot of people on this forum and in wider society who don’t have the intelligence to realise that they are merely pawns in a game of divide and conquer by the right-wing in politics and media in this country.
My sympathies over this incident are with the people who will probably have no job to go back to and to those from the area who are already unjustly suffering from the sort of broad brush, victim-blaming vilification of a community that has been a hallmark of the right everywhere for decades.
