Celtic will be without the cup-tied Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven.
Armstrong actually scored for United in the last meeting between the teams in December. Dundee United won that game 2-1. They’ve struggled in the league since losing two key players but this should be a difficult game for Celtic.
First of a Celtic-Dundee United triple header over the next three weekends with the League Cup Final next Sunday followed by a Celtic Park league clash.
Any updated team news, bhoys? Are Izaguirre, Commons and Guidetti available? Adam Matthews also went of injured at half time on Wednesday night. I wouldn’t want to be relying on James Forrest* today given his recent form.
Happy to meet up for pints to watch it (Sky Sports, 3.30pm kick-off) with any Monaghan based forum members.

dundee sold celtic their two best players for pittance showing they have no interest and their participation in this cannot be taken seriously

Don’t think so, pal. They’re at home too and will obviously be highly motivated. To put it in context, I give Arsenal a big chance away to Manchester United tomorrow night despite being comparable to Dundee United in terms of their status as a selling club to their domestic rivals.
Agreed. Probably losing lots of pace with GMS and Armstrong out but I haven’t seen anything from Forrest in recent weeks to show he’s anywhere close to being at the required level.
Paton wasn’t involved. Butcher had kicked out. Could have booked two players - Van Dijk probably can’t really complain though, he did kick out a small bit. It was stupid and didn’t warrant a red really but it was silly and petulant.
Ciftci and Butcher got away with it for them. Didn’t think Van Dijk did much wrong. Bitton into the back four now with Johansen beside Brown in a 4-4-1.
He didn’t do a lot wrong, and probably only got sent off because Butcher kicked back so they wanted two reds. He did flick out his foot though and shouldn’t have.
I’d fancy Ciftci to get sent off here but with these officials that would be a silly bet.
Good example there of Forrest pulling up a yard short of the defender in case he might inadvertently put him under pressure when he’s trying to clear it.
It’s a shit pitch and a scrappy match but we’re really not making much of an effort to pass it. Think we need Bitton in midfield. Takes so much away from our build up when he’s not there.
