I used a color trend matt on top of that stuff
They were smokers as well
Landlord told me he sugar soaped the walls for me( didn’t)

So had to work at it to bloody get the paint to adhere
All good now
Finish tomorrow early

@Corksfinedtboy I’m sure you’ve advised on this before - we’re going painting the exterior of the house in the coming weeks. Should we go colourtrend or Dulex? I understand Colourtrend is dearer, is it worth it?

Colour trends exterior is excellent but v expensive
Weather shield is good enough tbh
Fleetwood is also decent ( exterior)

You’ll get 4 years minimum on weather shield

that’s easy water based stuff for steel gates and wooden one’s,and I’ve done front doors also with it,no messing about, quick dry,and normally no undercoat required
( not for walls)

I need approx 15 litres of paint for the house - what would that be ballpark for colourtrend versus what would that be for dulex? Edit: don’t worry if you don’t know I’m going to a shop tomorrow

I used weather shield 5 + years ago. It’s overdue refreshing. Mrs B wants to keep same colour. Would the paint left over still be OK to use when the buckets were kept sealed all this time?

Beautiful……. but TOUGH

Better off buying 2 x10 litres
Of Dulux weather shield
Or Fleetwood
You’ll save e40 minimum in comparison to Colortrend

And you’ll have leftovers to touch up

C trend don’t allow outlets to drop their prices
Co op usually for good deals on weather shield etc

Fuck it away

So if I’m buying 15 or 20 litres of paint I’m only paying €40-50 more for the Colourtrend versus say Dulux? I thought it was going to be way more than that. For that money if it lasts longer and looks better I’d happily do it, as would like to get 4-5years out of this paint job.

You’ll get 20 litres of w Shield
It’ll last as long
Save money
And unless you’ve a microscope the ordinary person won’t see a difference

Yes CT will go on better, but FFS our weather will break down any make

Interior wise CT is king for me

Exterior - anything
