El Clásico - Real Madrid v Barcelona

This game probably warrants its own thread.

It should be a tremendous match.

Rocko will surely be able to test drive his new tactics/formation feature on this thread in the lead up to the game

Hopefully.

Do you have any team news from Barcelona, chewy?

I’m not sure whether Mourinho will play 3 or 4 of these 5 players - Ronaldo, Ozil, Benzema, Higuain, Di Maria.

I pray to the god I don’t believe in that Barcelona stuff these evil vile Bastards.

I think 4 of them will play, Higuain to miss out.

Mourinho confirmed that it will be Ronaldo, Di Maria and either Benzema/Higuain

Very much looking forward to this. I think people were a bit premature in expecting Real to win the first meeting last season because while their league form was good, they weren’t quite as good as Barcelona who were strolling their games too and looked invincible. I think it’s far more even this season and I think Real are justifiably favourites.

How do we expect they’ll line out? Some speculation Barca will go for 3 at the back which has been more effective for them this season but it would be some call to go for that away in Madrid. They have Piqué back so probably their standard back four and then the usual three in midfield. Seems like Pedro is the one who has been missing out up front.

Real have Xabi Alonso back which will mean Sahin will drop out after running himself into the ground on Tuesday night.

I’d expect:

Barcelona

[soccer]
[gk]Valdes[/gk]
[rwb]Alves[/rwb]
[rcb]Puyol[/rcb]
[lcb]Piqué[/lcb]
[lb]Abidal[/lb]
[cdm]Busquets[/cdm]
[rcm]Xavi[/rcm]
[lam]Iniesta[/lam]
[cf]Messi[/cf]
[rs]Sanchez[/rs]
[lst]Villa[/lst]
[/soccer]

Real’s team much harder. Don’t think Higuaín will start and there’s a chance Ozil could miss out too if Mourinho wants 3 central players to mark Barcelona’s 3 in there/

Is it likely to be Khedira beside Alonso then or someone else? I think Arbeloa is a good defender and he should play right back. Their formation could conceivably match up to Barca’s if Barca play the formation Rocko outlined above. But Barca could spring that 3-1-3-3 formation or whatever it is either.

I’d expect:

Real Madrid

[soccer]
[gk]Casillas[/gk]
[rb]Arbeloa[/rb]
[rcb]Ramos[/rcb]
[lcb]Pepe[/lcb]
[lb]Marcelo[/lb]
[cdm]Alonso[/cdm]
[rcm]Khedira[/rcm]
[lam]Ozil[/lam]
[st]Benzema[/st]
[rw]Di Maria[/rw]
[lf]Ronaldo[/lf]
[/soccer]

Benzema is our match winner on Saturday, he caused the pussies some major problems in the Super Cup.

This soccer formation feature is sexual.

I’d like to see that but I think it could be Diarra or even Coentrao in for Ozil. Hope Ozil plays though - he’s a lovely player.

chewy mentioned earlier on the thread that Mourinho announced Ozil would be playing.

He seems to have edited it since.

Yes, I amended that. Ronaldo, Di Maria and one of Benzema/Higuain

Oh right. Thanks for the clarification fellas. I don’t rate Diarra so would prefer if he was left out. How’s Sahin done of late? The young boy Caleron had another good Champions League performance last night but probably won’t be involved on Saturday.

Sahin had been injured but played last night and put in a good shift. Not sure he’s embedded in the team enough to get a starting place on Saturday.
