They used to about 10 years ago. But they’d show us some random fringe group instead of the Box Office acts that the public actually wanted to see. Glastonbury on the BBC was always much superior coverage.

If the totally awesome Uaneen Fitzsimons had not been heartbreakingly taken away from us by a car crash in Co. Laois she would be leading RTE’s coverage of this event in Co. Laois.
Events have consequences.
Would cost a whole heap.
The production costs to do it live would be quite significant. Then you could be in a situation where you have to pay rights for individual artists, etc. Be more expensive than an All Ireland final I’d say.

TG4 are showing EP footage - looks like whatever sets they covered were as Gaeilge but looks like an hour of Kneecap there - negative just a few tunes and an interview along with a load of other bands.
It’s already ten times the coverage of any previous rte effort. Ireland AM’s Siomha doing a good job holding it together.
