Elon Musk

Let he who has never maid a typeo cast the first stown.

A beautiful pun there from Stephen

how about not paying for the blue tick if you donā€™t want itā€¦ itā€™s just an ego thing

In some cases though itā€™s important particularly for Journalists. Itā€™s very useful when thereā€™s like terror attacked or things like that when you are trying to verify whatā€™s real or even is it the real person tweeting it.

Like most things though when you give it away for free and then charge for it at a later date itā€™ll always cause an uproar.

Well the journalists companies should have no problem paying for them if its so important for them.

If you donā€™t need it donā€™t pay. Its 20 quid a month and a load of rich cunts moaning about a status symbol

Its actually not. We could all set up accounts pretending to be notable people otherwise. For some, Iā€™ve no doubt it is, but you already have idiots believing fake tweets are from real celebrities or people in positions of power, and thats even with the current system of the blue tick.

You do realise print media is dying on its hole right? You want them to fund blue ticks now as well, on top of all their content being taken for free?

You think journalists are rich cunts?

yeah, no

that definitely isnā€™t happening anyway, have a good one fella

I accept your surrender.

Musk is evil reckon and Iā€™d say heā€™s only done this because of his massive ego.

Itā€™s dangerous when a fellas ego goes out of control.

seems like a a reasonable thing for a billionaire to do, Iā€™ll buy twitter just to make other famous people pay for a status symbol.

For $8/month, Iā€™d be tempted to get a blue tick myself. Great value in fairness to him.

Twitter has given lifeblood to a lot of mediocre journalists. Lots of annoyance about this charge and strops on how much ā€œcontentā€ theyā€™ve given Twitter but very little on what Twitter has given them. Paying for that network and influence makes sense to me. You can accuse Musk of a lot of things but not sure what the issue is here.

Weā€™re talking about people that make it their business to be outraged. There will always be an issue.

Has Gav Reilly had his say yet. If a twitter heavy weight like himself came out against it you could see Elon backtracking very quickly.
