Embarrassing Irish Sporting Capitulations

Seething

Common trend here. Team I like didnt capitulate

I am just posting other capitulations.

huh? They didnā€™t score a point second half ā€¦ They were 9 points up abd shit their togs. Hopefully a bit more mental strength is shown from here outā€¦we will need it against NZ.

Gman is seething for three days now

Sure I said as much in the very first post I made here. Massive capitulation from Ireland yday. Someone set up a thread to post great capitulations. Im just posting some others

New Zealand 60 Ireland 0 from 2012 should be in here too.

I donā€™t think the full extent of yesterdayā€™s shambles has been fully understood. Japan were captained by a 30 year old South African who only made his international debut 8 weeks ago and speaks no Japanese. Have an Irish team, in any sport, ever before been beaten by a team whose captain couldnā€™t speak the official language of the country he represented?
They had a 38 year old Kiwi playing lock who retired 4 years ago but then rejoined the squad when they were short of numbers. Thatā€™s only scratching the surface of how great an embarrassment yesterday was.

Declan Hannonā€™s free taking and the Limerick hurlers in the 2013 All Ireland Semi Final against Clare. Softest All Ireland won in the last 30 years was there for the taking for Limerick, who had all the momentum after winning the Munster Final.

Ah here. It was very warm.

Iā€™m probably one of the few that likes all sports on here and Iā€™d say the most sickening international event was euro 2012. The first international tournament I could remember Ireland qualifying for. Over after 25 minutes. Utterly sickening.

That losers bonus point lauded as an achievement.

Completely out of their depth. An utter humiliation.

Good call. Was that the one where we won the sing song? I remember the bandwagoners being ultra confident on here as well at the time. Some things never change

Ireland went into that knowing we were out of our depth and making up the numbersā€¦ We didnā€™t exactly go in as the no.1 seed and lose to minnows.

Terrible to see a promoted tweet from a drinks-pusher pushed in alongside honest opinion

Agreed, we showed in spades that we shouldnā€™t have been let near the competition in the first place, which was far more humiliating.

Qualifying for it alone was an outstanding achievementā€¦ Other sports rely on rankings alone to qualify for tournamentsā€¦rankings that we are told are to be ignored as they are basically made upā€¦

Not at all pal. Unless you are talking about yourself. I would actually like Ireland to do well. I can differentiate between the shite that follows Irish rugby that makes it annoying and a big reason why many donā€™t want them to do well, but itā€™s a national team representing us so Iā€™d much rather see them win than lose. Iā€™m not going to be distraught if they get knocked out, but would much rather them win than lose.

Thatā€™s a disgusting post.

Youā€™re comparing a fella playing a hobby to a group of men whoā€™ve had millions spent on them preparing for four years for a competition and then going out and losing to Japan.

Ireland have had years to prepare for the humidity and the 6 day turn around.

4 years to prepare for accepting a losing bonus point against Japan.

@AppleCrumbled told us they have been exclusively targeting the WC for some time now and ignored the 6 nations to do soā€¦

Hurling is not to be spoken of as a sport now? Itā€™s just to be categorised as a hobby?
