EPL 2009/2010 official thread

Not a chance that they’ll make it - or were ever going to make it. Not playing nearly well enough and the team looks a shambles under Rafa.

Not surprised by this defeat really.

Where do they go now Farmer? Cant afford to sack Rafa, cant afford to strengthen the squad. Could be a struggle to hold onto Torres and even Gerrard…I’m not helping am I?

Well this is the primary aim - if we lose one of those, which is very likely, then the ability of Liverpool to attract top players is seriously under question.

Benitez has to go though. He has taken Liverpool as far as he can - which isn’t far enough.

Liverpool are praying Juve take Rafa off their hands at the end of the season.

Who Would Liverpool fans like to take over? Mourinho? Hiddink? Klinsman. Its a huge rebuilding job and Liverpool don’t look to have the finances to take on Man City/Chelsea etc in the transfer market.

Seems to be doing well alright. Encouraging for the future.

was that really worth posting- did that add anything to the discussion or is it just your ususal inane dribble- methinks the usual

Will they have the budget to attract any of those?

Liverpool’s future hinges on whether they can attract some obscenely wealthy owners that can wipe off their debt.

I fear McCarthy’s development may stagnate if he remains in England for too long. He should move to Spain or Italy if the opportunity presents itself or else follow the example of his international captain and move back to the SPL to further his career.

funnily enough he is playing better for the latics than he ever did for the acceies

I actually had 6 or 7 more lines written that was having a pop at KIB Man for talking him down and saying he had achieved nothing (if though he’s only 19 etc.) but must have deleted it by mistake before posting!

In the time it took you to post that, you would have re-written the 6-7 lines of jibes, get on it! :stuck_out_tongue:

The moment has passed :stuck_out_tongue:

In short, KIB Man was wrong - yet again

Whats this now? Barcelona and Bayern Munich made a mistake not going for McCarthy? All this based on a supposed good performance against Liverpool…

Sure there was possibly an element of McCarthy’s agent exaggerating links to clubs to create a situation whereby potential suitors would offer him an attractive contract. However, he did spend time training with Liverpool and Celtic and was watched by a whole host of clubs. Maybe other big clubs didn’t firm up their interest when he became available but it’s hardly something to criticise him about - he can’t control the decision making process at other clubs. I think Mac was probably referring to KIB man’s post last week about McCarthy achieving nothing in the game. In fairness, lamenting the fact an 18 or 19-year old footballer hasn’t yet dominated the professional footballing landscape is akin to wondering why a 12-year old hasn’t got straight A grades in the Leaving Cert.

Ah he hasn’t a hope. KIB saw him play once, and said he was useless, i’m going with KIB, i think the fucker should fuck off and play for Scotland. Its bad enough Scotland is full of Scots, we don’t want Ireland full of them as well.

I’m in total agreement with this man.

That’s the point I was making but sure what use are facts when it comes to KIB Man?

Holy fuck - Rooney is in some form. The form player in the world at the moment - no doubt.

Just thinking it was a great call by Puke (I think) to call Mark Schwartzer underrated. He has had another fantastic game today.

He’s in superb form at the moment alright but Messi was easily the best player in the world last season and has done nothing this year to drop those standards. He has a goal a game in La Liga (marginally better than Rooney who has played more games so more goals but not quite the same average). Messi also has far more assists.

Obviously it’s hard to make a direct comparison but there’s an odd clamour to have Rooney put as the best in the world at the moment. He’s playing superbly alright but the best player in the world is still Messi. And he’s in fantastic form too.
